Our Commitment to Accessibility
Nexus Veteran MD is committed to improving the accessibility and usability of our website for all visitors, including people with disabilities.
Many of the veterans we work with live with visual, hearing, mobility, cognitive, or neurological conditions often as a direct result of their service. Making our information usable is not a formality for us. It is part of serving the people this website exists for.
We are working to improve accessibility over time. We do not claim that our website is fully accessible or fully conformant with any standard.
Accessibility Standards
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our reference point. WCAG is developed by the World Wide Web Consortium and is the standard most widely used to evaluate web accessibility in the United States.
- If no audit has been conducted: “Our website has not yet undergone a formal accessibility audit. We are working toward WCAG 2.1 Level AA as a goal and will update this statement as that work progresses.”
- If a self-assessment has been conducted: “We have conducted an internal review of our website against WCAG 2.1 Level AA. This was a self-assessment and not an independent audit.”
- If an independent audit has been conducted: “An independent accessibility audit was conducted by [auditor] in [month, year]. This statement reflects its findings.”
