Nexus Veteran MD is a veteran-owned medical consulting firm dedicated to supporting law offices and self-represented veterans in the disability claims process. Our clinicians include former military physicians and medical professionals with direct experience serving military and veteran populations.

We provide professionally prepared nexus letters and DBQs for both physical and mental health conditions, delivering clear, evidence-based medical opinions designed to strengthen claims and support accurate VA determinations.


OUR TEAM

CEO, Head Physician

Dr. Smith is a residency-trained, board-certified physician in Occupational Medicine who completed his training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and holds a Master of Public Health from Harvard. A former U.S. Army Medical Corps Major and Certified Life Care Planner, he has decades of experience in medical-legal review, disability evaluation, and preventive medicine.

COO

With a background in healthcare and medical claims, Madison brings a strong understanding of documentation, accuracy, and the importance of timely, detail-driven support. She is deeply committed to serving the veteran community and ensuring respectful, efficient, and reliable guidance throughout the process. Madison approaches her work with integrity, empathy, and is pursuing her nursing degree to further serve others through compassionate, patient-centered care.

Head Psychiatrist

Dr. Smeed is an ABPN board-certified psychiatrist with extensive experience in veteran mental health and treatment-resistant depression. As former Chief of the Treatment Resistant Depression and Neuromodulation Clinic at the VA and a residency supervisor at NOVA Southeastern University, he brings advanced expertise in complex mental health care and veteran-focused treatment.

Head Nurse

Gregory is a Registered Nurse and former U.S. Army Sergeant Major (E9) with 30 years of combined active-duty and reserve service. Beginning his military career as an Infantry Soldier and later serving as a Combat Medic, he went on to provide critical care in ICU and emergency department settings, as well as nearly seven years as a psychiatric nurse at Bay Pines VA supporting veterans in both inpatient and outpatient mental health.
